Rolling Stones: Still Rockin’

The Rolling Stones took the stage at Barclay’s Center on Saturday night to prove that age truly is just a number. There was certainly no lack of energy as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood blew the lid off of Brooklyn’s brand-new, world-class sports arena.

Always the performer, Jagger cracked a few jokes during the night. The best of which came when he told the crowd that the band took the subway to show and claimed to have taken a seat next to a nice young man with no idea who Jagger was. The young man in question? Jay-Z, of course. The crowd went wild. Obviously, this was a reference to the viral video of Jay-Z taking the train to his last concert at the Barclay’s Center.

All banter aside, fans were treated to no-holds-barred versions of favorite such as “Get Off My Cloud” and “Paint It Black” before being gifted with an encore of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Crowds were pleasantly surprised when Jagger took control of a guitar and performed “Miss You” and a new track, “Doom and Gloom.”

These not-so-spring chickens proved that they are still a force to be reckoned with in Brooklyn NYC this weekend.
